The Innventia core operations consist of world leading technical R & D work in the fields of pulp, paper, graphic products, packaging and the biorefinery. Innventia generates and refines results from its research to create innovative products and processes. With scientific based know-how and knowledge as our starting point, we, in the role of an innovation partner, contribute to our customers’ creation of value, from the development of processes and products to the innovation and development of new demonstrators.

From a historical perspective, Innventia devoted itself to research and innovation long before the concept became generally established. With one foot in the academic world and the other in industry, Innventia has the unique opportunity of acting as an innovation partner for industrial customers as well as of working in collaboration with universities and technical institutes.
The dynamic structure of the Innovation Process is clearly set out in the Innventia Innovation Arrow. 
Innventia is part of a network for improving processes concerning new concepts and industrial implementation. The network is called CAPPI.
Today’s demands on having greater knowledge of the market has led to networks and collaboration/alliances with different partners, characterized by a concentration on innovation, which is becoming more and more important in our work. Examples of this are Googol and KTH Innovation.
