Production of Power Papers

"Production of power papers" is based on the results of the earlier "Power papers" project, which showed that a new cellulose-based material is capable of storing energy in the same order as the supercondensers available on the market today.

The demonstrated material is a rubber-like paper based on cellulose fibres that have been refined into nanocellulose at RISE Bioeconomy’s nanocellulose pilot facility. The nanocellulose is dispersed in water, and when an electrically conductive polymer is added the polymer forms a thin coating around the nanocellulose fibres.

The new project "Production of power papers" funded by the SSF (Foundation for Strategic Research) focuses on production methods. In addition to RISE Bioeconomy, RISE Acreo, KTH and Linköping University participate.
