The modern kraft pulp mill

The research aims to increase the effectiveness of the kraft pulp mill by several means.

What is the research programme area about?

We will look into issues such as non-process elements, cellulose-water interaction, connections between pulp critical characteristics and good solubility, fibre properties and sustainability aspects in order to increase the effectiveness of the pulp mill.

What benefit will the research bring?

More efficient and sustainable kraft pulp mill operations will be required in the near future in order to compete successfully with other material resources. This programme aims at improving the process economy and pulp properties, as well as the availability and capacity in the recovery cycle.
