Microscopy is a very important tool for characterising and measuring micro structures. We have long experience and extensive knowledge of wood, fibres, paper and coating structures, including troubleshooting problems related to manufacturing processes.

  • X-ray microtomograph MicroXCT-200 from Xradia
  • Optical microscopes
    Stereomicroscopes and light microscopes with transmitted and reflected illumination. Confocal Scanning Laser Microscope a BioRad Radiance 2000 with argon laser and equipped with compression load cell
  • Electron microscopy
    Access to a Philips XL30 ESEM-FEG equipped with an energy dispersive spectrometer and INCA  X-ray analysis system from Oxford Instruments
  • Atomic Force Microscope
    Nanoscope IIID Digital Instruments
  • Sample preparation
    Sectioning of  no embedded and embedded materials using sledge and rotation microtomes. Grinding and polishing equipment
